Musnad Ahmad 19401 — Hadith of Abdullah ibn Abi Awfa
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ الْحَسَنِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي أَوْفَى ، قَالَ : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا قَالَ : " سَمِعَ اللَّهُ لِمَنْ حَمِدَهُ " ، قَالَ : " اللَّهُمَّ رَبَّنَا لَكَ الْحَمْدُ مِلْءَ السَّمَاءِ ، وَمِلْءَ الْأَرْضِ ، وَمِلْءَ مَا شِئْتَ مِنْ شَيْءٍ بَعْدُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Ibn Abi Awfa (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would raise his head from bowing (ruku), he would say "Sami' Allahu liman hamidah" and then say: "O our Lord Allah! All praise is for You, equal to the fullness of the heavens and the earth, and equal to the fullness of whatever else You will."
