Hadith of Urwah ibn Abi al-Ja'd al-Bariqi from the Prophet (peace be upon him)
Musnad Ahmad 19364 — Hadith of Urwah ibn Abi al-Ja'd al-Bariqi
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ الْعَيْزَارَ بْنَ حُرَيْثٍ يُحَدِّثُ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ الْجَعْدِ الْأَزْدِيِّ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : " الْخَيْلُ مَعْقُودٌ فِي نَوَاصِيهَا الْخَيْرُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Urwah al-Bariqi (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Goodness, blessing, reward, and spoils of war have been tied to the forelocks of horses until the Day of Resurrection."
