Continuation of Musnad of the Kufans
وَمِنْ حَدِيثِ جَرِيرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ
And from the hadith of Jarir ibn Abdullah from the Prophet (peace be upon him)
Musnad Ahmad 19236 — And from the hadith of Jarir ibn Abdullah
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، عَنْ هَمَّامِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ ، عَنْ جَرِيرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ أَنَّهُ بَالَ ، قَالَ : ثُمَّ تَوَضَّأَ ، وَمَسَحَ عَلَى خُفَّيْهِ ، وصلَّي ، فَسُئِلَ عن ذلك ، فَقَالَ : رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ صنع مثل هذا " . قال : وَكَانَ يُعْجِبُهُمْ هَذَا الْحَدِيثُ مِنْ أَجْلِ أَنَّ جَرِيرًا كَانَ مِنْ أََسَلَّمَ.
Ibrahim says that the hadith scholars attach great importance to this hadith because Hazrat Jarir (may Allah be pleased with him) accepted Islam after the revelation of the verse of wudu in Surah Al-Ma'idah.
