Continuation of Musnad of the Kufans
وَمِنْ حَدِيثِ جَرِيرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ
And from the hadith of Jarir ibn Abdullah from the Prophet (peace be upon him)
Musnad Ahmad 19158 — And from the hadith of Jarir ibn Abdullah
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنِ الْحَجَّاجِ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ ، عَنْ زَاذَانَ ، عَنْ جَرِيرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْبَجَلِيِّ أَنَّ رَجُلًا جَاءَ ، فَدَخَلَ فِي الْإِسْلَامِ ، فَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُعَلِّمُهُ الْإِسْلَامَ وَهُوَ فِي مَسِيرِهِ ، فَدَخَلَ خُفُّ بَعِيرِهِ فِي جُحْرِ يَرْبُوعٍ ، فَوَقَصَهُ بَعِيرُهُ ، فَمَاتَ ، فَأَتَى عَلَيْهِ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : " عَمِلَ قَلِيلًا وَأُجِرَ كَثِيرًا " قَالَهَا حَمَّادٌ ثَلَاثًا " اللَّحْدُ لَنَا ، وَالشَّقُّ لِغَيْرِنَا " . .
It is narrated from Hazrat Jarir (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man came and entered the fold of Islam. The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was teaching him the commandments of Islam. Once, he was going on a journey when his camel's hoof entered the hole of a wild rat. His camel threw him down forcefully, his neck broke, and he passed away. His funeral was brought to the service of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), so he said: "He did little deeds but received great reward." (Hammad mentioned this sentence three times.) The lahd (side niche grave) is for us, and the box-shaped grave is for others. The previous hadith is also narrated from this second chain.
