حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي لَيْلَى ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ الْبُنَانِيِّ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى ، عَنْ أَبِي لَيْلَى ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقْرَأُ فِي صَلَاةٍ لَيْسَتْ بِفَرِيضَةٍ ، فَمَرَّ بِذِكْرِ الْجَنَّةِ وَالنَّارِ ، فَقَالَ : " أَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ مِنَ النَّارِ ، وَيْحٌ أَوْ وَيْلٌ لِأَهْلِ النَّارِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Laila (may Allah be pleased with him) that I heard the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) reciting the Holy Qur'an in a prayer that was not obligatory. When the mention of Paradise and Hell came, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I seek refuge with Allah from Hell. Destruction is for the people of Hell."
