Musnad Ahmad 18908 — Hadith of al-Miswar ibn Makhramah al-Zuhri
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَامِرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، عَنْ أُمِّ بَكْرٍ ، عَنِ الْمِسْوَرِ ، قَالَ : مَرَّ بِي يَهُودِيٌّ وَأَنَا قَائِمٌ خَلْفَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَالنَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَتَوَضَّأُ ، قَالَ : فَقَالَ : ارْفَعْ أَوْ اكْشِفْ ثَوْبَهُ عَنْ ظَهْرِهِ ، قَالَ : فَذَهَبْتُ بِهِ أَرْفَعُهُ ، قَالَ : " فَنَضَحَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي وَجْهِي مِنَ الْمَاءِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Miswar (may Allah be pleased with him) that once a Jew passed by me while I was standing behind the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was performing ablution. The Jew said, "Remove his garment from his back." When I moved forward to remove it, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sprinkled water on my face.
