حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنِ الْحَكَمِ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ أَبِي لَيْلَى يُحَدِّثُ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُكَيْمٍ ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ : قُرِئَ عَلَيْنَا كِتَابُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي أَرْضِ جُهَيْنَةَ وَأَنَا غُلَامٌ شَابٌّ أَنْ " لَا تَسْتَمْتِعُوا مِنَ الْمَيْتَةِ بِإِهَابٍ وَلَا عَصَبٍ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abdullah bin Ukeem (may Allah be pleased with him) that a letter from the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to us when we were residing in Juhainah, and I was a young man at that time, stating: Do not derive any benefit from the skin and tendons of a dead animal.
