Musnad Ahmad 17946 — Hadith of Al-Shurayd ibn Suwayd Al-Thaqafi
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا وَبْرُ بْنُ أَبِي دُلَيْلَةَ ، شَيْخٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ الطَّائِفِ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مَيْمُونِ بْنِ مُسَيْكَةَ وَأَثْنَى عَلَيْهِ خَيْرًا ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ الشَّرِيدِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَيُّ الْوَاجِدِ يُحِلُّ عِرْضَهُ وَعُقُوبَتَهُ " . قَالَ وَكِيعٌ : عِرْضُهُ : شِكَايَتُهُ . وَعُقُوبَتُهُ : حَبْسُهُ.
It is narrated from Hazrat Shuraid (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The procrastination of a wealthy person makes it permissible to complain about him and to imprison him.
