Musnad Ahmad 17894 — Hadith of Abdur-Rahman ibn Abi Umairah Al-Azdi
حَدَّثَنَا حَيْوَةُ بْنُ شُرَيْحٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا بَقِيَّةُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي بَحِيرُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، عَنْ خَالِدِ بْنِ مَعْدَانَ ، عَنْ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ نُفَيْرٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عَمِيرَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " مَا مِنَ النَّاسِ نَفْسُ مُسْلِمٍ يَقْبِضُهَا اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ ، تُحِبُّ أَنْ تَعُودَ إِلَيْكُمْ وَأَنَّ لَهَا الدُّنْيَا وَمَا فِيهَا ، غَيْرُ الشَّهِيدِ " . وقَالَ ابْنُ عَمِيرَةَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَأَنْ أُقْتَلَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ ، أَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ مِنْ أَنْ يَكُونَ لِي الْمَدَرُ وَالْوَبَرُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Ibn Abi Umairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When the soul of every Muslim, except the martyr, is taken, he wishes to return to you and to receive the blessings of the world and whatever is in it. It is narrated from Hazrat Ibn Abi Umairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Being martyred in the way of Allah is more beloved to me than camels and goats.
