Musnad Ahmad 17428 — Hadith of Uqbah ibn Amir Al-Juhani
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ هُبَيْرَةَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ ، عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ الْجُهَنِيِّ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " إِذَا اكْتَحَلَ أَحَدُكُمْ ، فَلْيَكْتَحِلْ وِتْرًا ، وَإِذَا اسْتَجْمَرَ ، فَلْيَسْتَجْمِرْ وِتْرًا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Uqbah bin Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When any of you applies incense, let him do so an odd number of times, and when he applies kohl, let him also do so an odd number of times.
