Musnad Ahmad 17330 — Hadith of Uqbah ibn Amir Al-Juhani
حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا بَكْرُ بْنُ سَوَادَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ جُعْثُلٍ الْقِتْبَانِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي تَمِيمٍ الْجَيْشَانِيِّ ، عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ أَنَّ أُخْتَ عُقْبَةَ نَذَرَتْ فِي ابْنٍ لَهَا لَتَحُجَّنَّ حَافِيَةً بِغَيْرِ خِمَارٍ ، فَبَلَغَ ذَلِكَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : " تَحُجُّ رَاكِبَةً مُخْتَمِرَةً ، وَلْتَصُمْ " .
It is narrated from Abdullah bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that the sister of Hazrat Uqbah bin Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) had vowed to perform Hajj on foot without wearing a shawl. Hazrat Uqbah (may Allah be pleased with him) asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about this, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: What will Allah do with your sister’s hardship? Instruct her to wear a shawl, ride (an animal), and fast for three days.
