Musnad Ahmad 17235 — Hadith of Amr ibn Awf from the Prophet
حَدَّثَنَا سَعْدٌ ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ، عَنْ صَالِحٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي عُرْوَةُ بْنُ الزُّبَيْرِ ، أَنَّ الْمِسْوَرَ بْنَ مَخْرَمَةَ أَخْبَرَهُ ، أَنَّ عَمْرَو بْنَ عَوْفٍ وَهُوَ حَلِيفُ بَنِي عَامِرِ بْنِ لُؤَيٍّ ، وَكَانَ شَهِدَ بَدْرًا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَخْبَرَهُ ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَعَثَ أَبَا عُبَيْدَةَ ، فَذَكَرَ مِثْلَهُ.
Sa'd narrated to us, my father narrated to me, from Salih, from Ibn Shihab, who said: 'Urwah ibn al-Zubayr informed me that al-Miswar ibn Makhramah informed him that 'Amr ibn 'Awf, who was an ally of Banu 'Amir ibn Lu'ayy and had witnessed Badr with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, informed him that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, sent Abu 'Ubaydah, and he mentioned the like of it.'
