(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ يَعْنِي أَبَا دَاوُدَ الطَّيَالِسِيَّ , حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَامِرٍ الْخَزَّازُ ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ ، عَنْ سَعْدٍ مَوْلَى أَبِي بَكْرٍ ، قَالَ : قَدَّمْتُ بَيْنَ يَدَيْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ تَمْرًا فَجَعَلُوا يَقْرُنُونَ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَا تَقْرُنُوا " .
Sayyiduna Sa’d (may Allah be pleased with him)—who was the freed slave of Sayyiduna Abu Bakr al-Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him)—narrates: Once I presented some dates to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). People began to take and eat two or three dates at a time. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Do not eat by combining them in this way (rather, eat one at a time).”
