Musnad Ahmad 17034 — The remainder of the hadith of Zayd ibn Khalid
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنْ صَالِحِ بْنِ كَيْسَانَ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ الْجُهَنِيِّ ، قَالَ : لَعَنَ رَجُلٌ دِيكًا صَاحَ عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَا تَلْعَنْهُ ، فَإِنَّهُ يَدْعُو إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Zaid bin Khalid (may Allah be pleased with him) that in the presence of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), a man cursed a rooster "because of its crowing." The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Do not curse it, for it calls towards prayer."
