مُعَادٌ أَيْضًا فِي الْمَكِّيِّينَ وَالْمَدَنِيِّينَ إِلَّا أَحَادِيثَ مِنْهَا قَدْ أَثْبَتُّهَا هَاهُنَا وَبَاقِيهَا فِي الْمَكِّيِّينَ وَالْمَدَنِيِّينَ
It is also repeated among the Meccans and the Medinans, except for some hadiths from them which I have established here, and the rest are among the Meccans and the Medinans.
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْمُغِيرَةِ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ الْأَوْزَاعِيَّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي رَبِيعَةُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ وَاثِلَةَ بْنَ الْأَسْقَعِ ، يَقُولُ : خَرَجَ عَلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : " أَتَزْعُمُونَ أَنِّي آخِرِكُمْ وَفَاةً ، أَلَا إِنِّي مِنْ أَوَّلِكُمْ وَفَاةً ، وَتَتْبَعُونِي أَفْنَادًا ، يُهْلِكُ بَعْضُكُمْ بَعْضًا "
It is narrated from Hazrat Wathilah bin Asqa’ (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Prophet (peace be upon him) came to us and said: “Do you think that I will be the last among you to pass away? Remember! I will be the first among you to pass away, and after me, such calamities will befall you that you will begin to destroy one another yourselves.”
