Musnad Ahmad 16889 — Hadith of Mu'awiyah ibn Abi Sufyan
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ فُضَيْلٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ حَكِيمٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ كَعْبٍ الْقُرَظِيَّ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ مُعَاوِيَةَ ، يَقُولُ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ إِذَا انْصَرَفَ مِنَ الصَّلَاةِ : " اللَّهُمَّ لَا مَانِعَ لِمَا أَعْطَيْتَ ، وَلَا مُعْطِيَ لِمَا مَنَعْتَ ، وَلَا يَنْفَعُ ذَا الْجَدِّ مِنْكَ الْجَدُّ "
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Muawiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) that after finishing the prayer, I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) saying these words: "Whomever You give, none can withhold from him, and whomever You withhold from, none can give to him, and the honor of the honorable cannot benefit him before You."
