Musnad Ahmad 16819 — Hadith of Khalid ibn al-Walid
حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو يَعَنِي بْنِ دِينَارٍ ، عَنِ أَبِي نَجِيحٍ ، عَنْ خَالِدِ بْنِ حَكِيمِ بْنِ حِزَامٍ ، قَالَ : تَنَاوَلَ أَبُو عُبَيْدَةَ رَجُلًا بِشَيْءٍ ، فَنَهَاهُ خَالِدُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ ، فَقَالَ : أَغْضَبْتَ الْأَمِيرَ ، فَأَتَاهُ ، فَقَالَ : إِنِّي لَمْ أُرِدْ أَنْ أُغْضِبَكَ ، وَلَكِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : " إِنَّ أَشَدَّ النَّاسِ عَذَابًا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ أَشَدُّ النَّاسِ عَذَابًا لِلنَّاسِ فِي الدُّنْيَا "
Khalid bin Hakim bin Hizam narrates that once Hazrat Abu Ubaidah (may Allah be pleased with him) gave something to a person. Hazrat Khalid bin Walid (may Allah be pleased with him) stopped him from doing so. He said, "You have displeased the Commander of the Faithful." Then he came to him and said, "I did not intend to displease you, but I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: On the Day of Resurrection, the person who will receive the severest punishment will be the one who inflicted the severest punishment on people in the world."
