(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ ، عن عِكْرِمَةُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ ، عَنْ إِيَاسِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ الْأَكْوَعِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : كَانَ شِعَارُنَا لَيْلَةَ بَيَّتْنَا فِي هَوَازِنَ مَعَ أَبِي بَكْرٍ الصِّدِّيقِ َأَمَّرَهُ عَلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَمِتْ أَمِتْ ، وَقَتَّلْتُ بِيَدَيَّ لَيْلَتَئِذٍ سَبْعَةً أَهْلِ أَبْيَاتٍ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Salamah (may Allah be pleased with him) that on the night when we attacked Banu Hawazin in the company of Sayyiduna Siddiq Akbar (may Allah be pleased with him)—whom the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had appointed as our leader—the sign for recognizing each other among us was the word "Ummat." That night, I killed seven members of a household with my own hand.
