(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ سَهْلًا , يَقُولُ : أَتَى أَبُو أُسَيْدٍ السَّاعِدِيُّ ، " فَدَعَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي عُرْسِهِ ، فَكَانَتْ امْرَأَتُهُ خَادِمَهُمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ وَهِيَ الْعَرُوسُ , قَالَ : تَدْرُونَ مَا سَقَتْ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ؟ أَنْقَعَتْ تَمَرَاتٍ مِنَ اللَّيْلَةِ فِي تَوْرٍ " .
Once, Sayyiduna Abu Usaid came to the service of the Prophet (peace be upon him) and invited him to attend his wedding. On that day, his wife herself served (the guests) despite being the bride. Sayyiduna Abu Usaid asked the people, "Do you know what I gave the Prophet (peace be upon him) to drink?" I had soaked dates in a vessel overnight, and it was the water (nabidh) from those dates.
