Musnad Ahmad 15845 — Hadith of Suwayd ibn Hubayrah from the Prophet
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحُ بْنُ عُبَادَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نَعَامَةَ الْعَدَوِيُّ ، عَنْ مُسْلِمِ بْنِ بُدَيْلٍ ، عَنْ إِيَاسِ بْنِ زُهَيْرٍ ، عَنْ سُوَيْدِ بْنِ هُبَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " خَيْرُ مَالِ الْمَرْءِ لَهُ مُهْرَةٌ مَأْمُورَةٌ ، أَوْ سِكَّةٌ مَأْبُورَةٌ " ، وَقَالَ رَوْحٌ فِي بَيْتِهِ وَقِيلَ لَهُ : إِنَّكَ قُلْتَ لَنَا : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Suwaid bin Hambirah that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: The best wealth for a person is a goat’s kid that is lawful for him, or the coin money that is current at the time.
