Musnad Ahmad 15652 — Hadith of a man from the companions
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا يُونُسُ ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ , أَنَّ رَجُلًا مِنْ أَصْحَابِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَدَّثَهُ , أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " إِذَا كَانَ أَحَدُكُمْ فِي صَلَاتِهِ ، فَلَا يَرْفَعْ بَصَرَهُ إِلَى السَّمَاءِ أَنْ يُلْتَمَعَ بَصَرُهُ " .
It is narrated from a companion that he heard the Prophet (peace be upon him) say: When any one of you is in prayer, he should not look up towards the sky, lest his eyesight be taken away.
