Musnad Ahmad 15547 — Addition in the hadith of Abu Lubabah ibn 'Abd
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ , حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ حَازِمٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ نَافِعًا , قَالَ : كَانَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ يَأْمُرُ بِقَتْلِ الْحَيَّاتِ كُلِّهِنَّ ، لَا يَدَعُ مِنْهُنَّ ، شَيْئًا حَتَّى حَدَّثَهُ أَبُو لُبَابَةَ الْبَدْرِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمُنْذِرِ , أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " نَهَى عَنْ قَتْلِ جِنَّانِ الْبُيُوتِ .
Nafi' says that Sayyiduna Ibn Umar used to order the killing of all kinds of snakes and would not spare any, until Sayyiduna Abu Lubabah narrated this hadith that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade killing the snakes that live in houses.
