Musnad Ahmad 15329 — Musnad of Hakim ibn Hizam from the Prophet
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ ، أَخْبَرَنِي عَطَاءٌ ، أَنَّ صَفْوَانَ بْنَ مَوْهَبٍ أَخْبَرَهُ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ صَيْفِيٍّ ، عَنْ حَكِيمِ بْنِ حِزَامٍ , قَالَ : قَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَلَمْ يَأْتِنِي أَوَلَمْ يَبْلُغْنِي ، أَوْ كَمَا شَاءَ اللَّهُ مِنْ ذَلِكَ أَنَّكَ تَبِيعُ الطَّعَامَ ، قَالَ : بَلَى يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " فَلَا تَبِعْ طَعَامًا حَتَّى تَشْتَرِيَهُ وَتَسْتَوْفِيَهُ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Hakim bin Hizam that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to me: "Is it not as I have come to know that you trade in grain?" I said: "Yes, O Messenger of Allah!" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When you buy grain, do not sell it further until you have taken possession of it."
قَالَ : عَطَاءٌ , وَأَخْبَرَنِيه أَيْضًا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَصْمَةَ الْجُشَمِيُّ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ حَكِيمَ بْنَ حِزَامٍ ، يُحَدِّثُهُ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ .
The previous hadith is also narrated through this second chain of transmission.
