Musnad Ahmad 15322 — Musnad of Hakim ibn Hizam from the Prophet
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا قَتَادَةُ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْخَلِيلِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ نَوْفَلٍ ، عَنْ حَكِيمِ بْنِ حِزَامٍ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " الْبَيِّعَانِ بِالْخِيَارِ ، مَا لَمْ يَتَفَرَّقَا ، فَإِنْ صَدَقَا وَبَيَّنَا ، بُورِكَ لَهُمَا فِي بَيْعِهِمَا ، وَإِنْ كَذَبَا وَكَتَمَا ، مُحِقَتْ بَرَكَةُ بَيْعِهِمَا " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Hakeem bin Hizam that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The seller and the buyer (the one who sells and the one who buys) have the option (to finalize or cancel the deal) as long as they do not separate. If both speak the truth and clarify everything, they will be blessed in this transaction. But if they lie and conceal something, the blessing of the transaction will be taken away from them.
