(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ مُعَاوِيَةَ ، عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ أَبِي سُلَيْمَانَ , قَالَ : قَالَ صَفْوَانُ بْنُ أُمَيَّةَ : رَآنِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , وَأَنَا آخُذُ اللَّحْمَ عَنِ الْعَظْمِ بِيَدِي ، فَقَالَ : " يَا صَفْوَانُ " , قُلْتُ : لَبَّيْكَ ، قَالَ " قَرِّبْ اللَّحْمَ مِنْ فِيكَ ، فَإِنَّهُ أَهْنَأُ وَأَمْرَأُ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Safwan bin Umayyah in a marfu’ form that once the Prophet (ﷺ) saw me eating meat by removing it from the bone with my hand. The Prophet (ﷺ) said: "Safwan." I replied: "At your service." He said: "Bring the meat close to your mouth (and eat by biting it off with your mouth), for it is more pleasant and easier to digest this way."
