(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا شَاذَانُ أَسْوَدُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَقِيلٍ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : لَمَّا أَرَادَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، أَنْ يُخَلِّفَ عَلِيًّا رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ لَهُ عَلِيٌّ : مَا يَقُولُ النَّاسُ فِيَّ إِذَا خَلَّفْتَنِي ؟ ، قَالَ : فَقَالَ : " أَمَا تَرْضَى أَنْ تَكُونَ مِنِّي بِمَنْزِلَةِ هَارُونَ مِنْ مُوسَى ؟ إِلَّا أَنَّهُ لَيْسَ بَعْدِي نَبِيٌّ " ، أَوْ " لَا يَكُونُ بَعْدِي نَبِيٌّ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) intended to leave Sayyiduna Ali behind, he said, "If you leave me behind and go, what will people say about me?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Are you not pleased that your relation to me is like that of Sayyiduna Harun to Sayyiduna Musa? However, there will be no prophet after me."
