(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْمُنْكَدِرِ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لِكُلِّ نَبِيٍّ حَوَارِيٌّ ، وَحَوَارِيَّ الزُّبَيْرُ " ، قَالَ : سَمِعْت سُفْيَانَ بْنَ عُيَيْنَةَ ، يَقُولُ : الْحَوَارِيُّ يعني النَّاصِرُ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Every prophet had a disciple, and my disciple is Zubair. Sufyan bin ‘Uyaynah says that the meaning of disciple (hawari) is helper and supporter.
