(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ . ح وَأَبُو نُعَيْمٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : جَاءَ أَبُو حُمَيْدٍ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ بِإِنَاءٍ مِنْ لَبَنٍ نَهَارًا إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ بِالْبَقِيعِ ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَلَا خَمَّرْتَهُ ! وَلَوْ أَنْ تَعْرُضَ عَلَيْهِ عُودًا " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that once Abu Humayd Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) brought some milk in a vessel early in the morning to the service of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was at that time in Jannat al-Baqi'. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Why did you not cover it? Even if you had covered it with a stick."
