(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَاحِدِ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَاصِمٌ الْأَحْوَلُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي النَّضْرُ بْنُ أَنَسٍ ، وَأَنَسٌ يومئذ حي ، قَالَ أَنَسٌ : لَوْلَا أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " لَا يَتَمَنَّيَنَّ أَحَدُكُمْ الْمَوْتَ " ، لَتَمَنَّيْتُهُ .
Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him)'s son, Nazar, says that if the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had not said that none of you should wish for death, I would certainly have wished for death. At that time, Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) was also alive.
