(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ عَامِرٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " يَتَوَضَّأُ عِنْدَ كُلِّ صَلَاةٍ " ، قُلْتُ : فَأَنْتُمْ كَيْفَ كنتم تَصْنَعُونَ ؟ ، قَالَ : كُنَّا نُصَلِّي الصَّلَوَاتِ بِوُضُوءٍ وَاحِدٍ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to perform a new ablution for every prayer. The narrator asked Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him), "What did you people do?" He replied, "We used to perform several prayers with a single ablution until we became without ablution."
