(حديث قدسي) حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ قَتَادَةَ يُحَدِّثُ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : قَالَ رَبُّكُمْ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ : " إِذَا تَقَرَّبَ الْعَبْدُ مِنِّي شِبْرًا ، تَقَرَّبْتُ مِنْهُ ذِرَاعًا ، وَإِذَا تَقَرَّبَ مِنِّي ذِرَاعًا ، تَقَرَّبْتُ مِنْهُ بَاعًا ، وَإِذَا أَتَانِي يَمْشِي ، أَتَيْتُهُ هَرْوَلَةً " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever comes closer to Allah by a span, Allah comes closer to him by a cubit; and whoever comes closer to Allah by a cubit, Allah comes closer to him by a fathom; and whoever comes to Allah walking, Allah comes to him running.
