(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا شُجَاعُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي عُرُوبَةَ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي نَضْرَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، أَنَّ نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " إِذَا كَانُوا ثَلَاثَةً ، فَلْيَؤُمَّهُمْ أَحَدُهُمْ ، وَأَحَقُّهُمْ بِالْإِمَامَةِ أَقْرَؤُهُمْ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Where there are three people, at the time of prayer one person should become the imam, and among them, the one who knows the most Qur'an has the greatest right to lead them in prayer.
