Musnad Ahmad 11302 — Musnad of Abu Sa'id al-Khudri
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَامِرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيٌّ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نَضْرَةَ ، أَنَّ أَبَا سَعِيدٍ أَخْبَرَهُمْ أَنَّهُمْ سَأَلُوا النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنِ الْوَتْرِ ، فَقَالَ : " أَوْتِرُوا قَبْلَ الصُّبْحِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that people asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about Witr, so he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Offer Witr before the morning (Fajr)."
