حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ يَعْنِي الْفِرْيَابِيَّ بِمَكَّةَ , حَدَّثَنَا الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ , عَنْ قُرَّةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ , عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ , عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ , عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , قََالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " حَذْفُ السَّلَامِ سُنَّةٌ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: To keep the greeting (salam) brief is Sunnah.
