حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ , حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ , أَخْبَرَنِي عَطَاءٌ , عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ الزَّيَّاتِ , أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ , يَقُولُ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " كُلُّ عَمَلِ ابْنِ آدَمَ لَهُ , إِلَّا الصِّيَامَ فَهُوَ لِي , وَأَنَا أَجْزِي بِهِ " . " وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ , لَخُلُوفُ فَمِ الصَّائِمِ ، أَطْيَبُ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ مِنْ رِيحِ الْمِسْكِ ، وَالصِّيَامُ جُنَّةٌ ، وَلِلصَّائِمِ فَرْحَتَانِ يَفْرَحُهُمَا إِذَا أَفْطَرَ فَرِحَ ، وَإِذَا لَقِيَ رَبَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ ، فَرِحَ بِصَوْمِهِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Every deed of the son of Adam is for him except fasting; it is for Me and I Myself will reward it. By the One in Whose hand is the soul of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), the breath of the fasting person is more pleasant to Allah than the fragrance of musk. Fasting is a shield, and the fasting person has two moments of joy: when he breaks his fast, he rejoices, and when he meets Allah, he will also be happy.
