حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ , وَأَبُو عَامَرٍ , قَالَا : أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ , عَنِ عَجْلَانَ مَوْلَى الْمُشْمَعِلِّ , وَقَالَ أَبُو عَامَرٍ مَوْلَى حَكِيمٍ ، وَقَالَ أَبُو أَحْمَدَ الزُّبَيْرِيُّ مَوْلَى حَمَاسٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم ََقَال : " لَا تَسَابَّ وَأَنْتَ صَائِمٌ ، فَإِنْ شَتَمَكَ أَحَدٌ ، فَقُلْ : إِنِّي صَائِمٌ , وَإِنْ كُنْتَ قَائِمًا فَاقْعُدْ " . " وَالَّذِي نَفْسُ مُحَمَّدٍ بِيَدِهِ , لَخُلُوفُ فَمِ الصَّائِمِ , أَطْيَبُ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ مِنْ رِيحِ الْمِسْكِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Do not use foul language while fasting; if anyone among you does so, say to him, "I am fasting." And if anyone does so to you, say to him, "I am fasting." And if you are standing, then sit down. By Him in Whose hand is the soul of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), the breath of the fasting person is more pleasant to Allah than the fragrance of musk.
