حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ , أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ , قََالَ : سَمِعْتُ الْحَسَنَ يُحَدِّثُ , عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , قََالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ سَنَّ سُنَّةَ ضَلَالٍ فَاتُّبِعَ عَلَيْهَا ، كَانَ عَلَيْهِ مِثْلُ أَوْزَارِهِمْ مِنْ غَيْرِ أَنْ يَنْقُصَ مِنْ أَوْزَارِهِمْ شَيْءٌ , وَمَنْ سَنَّ سُنَّةَ هُدًى فَاتُّبِعَ عَلَيْهَا , كَانَ لَهُ مِثْلُ أُجُورِهِمْ مِنْ غَيْرِ أَنْ يَنْقُصَ مِنْ أُجُورِهِمْ شَيْءٌ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever establishes a way of misguidance among the people and people follow him, he will bear a sin equal to that of those who follow him, and nothing will be diminished from their sins. And whoever establishes a way of guidance among the people and people follow him, he will receive a reward equal to that of those who follow him, and nothing will be diminished from their rewards.
