Musnad Abdullah bin Mubarak 216 — Hadith Number: 216

Sayyiduna Ibn Umar and Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) narrated it as marfu‘ to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said: “It is not lawful for a man to give a gift and then take it back, except for a father regarding what he gives to his son. And the example of one who gives a gift and then takes it back is like a dog that eats, and when it is full, it vomits, then returns to its vomit.”
