Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

It is narrated from Hasan that he said: When the offspring of Hazrat Adam (peace be upon him) were presented before him, he saw that some of them were given superiority over others. So he submitted: O my Lord! If You had made them equal among themselves? It was said: O Adam! I like that My gratitude be expressed. When the one with superiority sees his superiority, he should praise Me and express gratitude to Me.

It is narrated from Hazrat Masrooq that he said: "In whichever house happiness enters, dust also enters that house."

Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) says that I do not know any person whom Allah has protected from the matters of people, and who has remained steadfast upon the way of those before him, as Hazrat Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) remained steadfast.

It is narrated from Hazrat Sufyan that he says: A man said to Hazrat Muhammad bin Wasi', "I love you for the sake of Allah." He replied, "May He for whose sake you love me, love you."

It is narrated from Hazrat Mujahid regarding { ذَلِکَ یَوْمُ التَّغَابُنِ } that he says: (This is the day) when the people of Paradise will enter Paradise and the people of Hell will enter Hell.

It is narrated from Hazrat Ibn Shubruma. He says: I have not seen any tribe with more elders, jurists, and worshippers than the tribe of Banu Thawr.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Ya’la (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: We were thirty men. None among them was of a lower rank than Rabee’ bin Khaytham.

It is narrated about Ibrahim that sweetmeat was brought to him, but he did not eat it and said: "This is children's food."

It is narrated from Hazrat Ibn Munabbih that he said: Faith is naked, and its clothing is piety, and its wealth is understanding (fiqh), and its adornment is modesty.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Ishaq that he said: When Hazrat Amr bin Maymoon would enter the mosque, he would remember Allah.

It is narrated from Hazrat Tawoos that he said: When you acquire knowledge, acquire it for your own self. Because trustworthiness has vanished from among the people. The narrator says: They used to count the hadith letter by letter.

It is narrated about a Sheikh that whenever he heard a questioner who said, "Who will give Allah a goodly loan," he would say: "Subhan Allah, walhamdulillah, wa la ilaha illallah, wallahu akbar." This is the goodly loan.

It is narrated from Hazrat Sariyyah Rabi' that he says Hazrat Rabi' bin Khaytham liked sweets. So he would tell us, "Prepare food for me." Thus, we would prepare a lot of food for him. Then he would call Hazrat Farukh and so-and-so. And Hazrat Rabi' would feed and give them drink with his own hand. And he himself would drink what was left of their beverage. Hazrat Rabi' was asked, "How do these two know what you are feeding them?" Upon this, Hazrat Rabi' said, "But Allah Almighty knows."

It is narrated about Hazrat Bakhtari Tai that he used to say: The things for which the dead feel envy, the living should also feel envy for them. Know that worship is not correct without asceticism, and be gentle at the time of virtue, be strict at the time of sin, and love people according to their piety.

Hazrat Abu Ishaq says that Hazrat Abu Abdur Rahman Salmi taught the Qur'an in the mosque for forty years.

It is narrated from Hazrat Salamah bin Kuhail that he says: If a believer is on one edge inside the sea, Allah Almighty will (even there) appoint that thing which will cause him distress.

It is narrated from Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Beware of oppression, for oppression will appear as darkness on the Day of Resurrection."

It is narrated from Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Oppression will appear as darkness on the Day of Resurrection."

It is narrated from Hazrat Jarir that he says Hazrat Salman asked me, "Do you know what the darknesses on the Day of Judgment will be?" It is the mutual oppression of people in the world.

It is narrated from Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them). He says that Allah Almighty revealed to Hazrat Dawood: Tell the oppressors not to remember Me, because it is My right that whoever remembers Me, I remember him, and My remembering those oppressors is that I curse them.

It is narrated from Thumamah bin Bijad that he said: I warn you against saying such a thing as: I will soon stand (in prayer). I will soon perform prayer. I will soon fast.

It is narrated from one of the companions of the Noble Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him and his family). He says: Do not leave today’s work for tomorrow, because you do not know what will happen to you tomorrow.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Ja'far, he says that there was not a single companion of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, who, when he heard a hadith from him, would take it as it was. He would neither add to it nor subtract from it, and neither would Hazrat Abdullah bin Umar.

Hazrat Musa bin Qais narrates that he said Hazrat Zar told me: Come with us to this mosque so that we may offer prayer.

It is narrated from Hazrat Salamah bin Kuhail regarding the Divine command { لَئِنْ لَمْ یَنْتَہِ الْمُنَافِقُونَ وَالَّذِینَ فِی قُلُوبِہِمْ مَرَضٌ}. He says (it refers to) the companions of immoralities.

It is narrated from Hazrat Amr bin Qais Kindi: He says about { فَإِذَا جَائَتِ الطَّامَّۃُ الْکُبْرَی } that this will happen when it is commanded, "Take them towards Hell."

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hayyan that he says Hazrat Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) passed by some people who were blowing into a bellows, so he fell down.

It is narrated from Hazrat Hakeem bin Jabir that he says: A man said to another man, "Advise me." He said, "Do a good deed after committing a sin; it will erase that sin. And meet people with good manners."

It is narrated from Hazrat Mirdas Aslami that he said: The righteous people will depart one by one until only chaff remains, like the chaff of dates and barley. Allah Almighty will not care for them.

It is narrated from Hazrat Sufyan that he said: I heard Hazrat Zaid bin Aslam say about this verse { لاَ تَخَافُوا مَا أَمَامَکُمْ } that do not fear what is coming before you, and do not grieve over what you have left behind. And "Rejoice in the Paradise which you have been promised." He said: Glad tidings will be given at three places: at the time of death, in the grave, and at the time of resurrection.

It is narrated from Hazrat Muhammad bin Ka'b that he says: When Allah Almighty intends good for a servant, He grants him understanding in religion, makes him disinterested in the world, and shows him his own faults. Whoever is given these things has been given the good of this world and the Hereafter.

It is narrated from Hazrat Adi bin Hatim. He says that whenever the time for prayer comes, I feel eager for it, and whenever the time for prayer comes, I am prepared for it.

It is narrated about Hazrat Abu Hazim that he said: You should see what you would like to have with you in the Hereafter, then send it ahead today. And you should see what you would not like to have with you there, then abandon it today.

It is narrated from Hazrat Amr bin Maymoon that he heard Hazrat Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) say: I was walking behind the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) when he said: "Shall I not tell you of one of the treasures of Paradise?" I said: Certainly. He said: La hawla wa la quwwata illa billah.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Musa that he said: We were with the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). I was behind him and he heard me saying: "La hawla wa la quwwata illa billah." So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Abdullah bin Qais! Shall I not tell you of one of the treasures of Paradise?" I said: Why not. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "La hawla wa la quwwata illa billah."

It is narrated from Hazrat Amir bin Sa’d. He says that I met Hazrat Abu Ayyub Ansari, so he said to me: Shall I not tell you about the thing which the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) told me? That I should frequently say: "La hawla wa la quwwata illa billah" (There is no power and no strength except with Allah), because it is one of the treasures of Paradise.

It is narrated from Hazrat Zaid bin Thabit that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, used to say: "Shall I not tell you of one of the treasures from the treasures of Paradise? Recite frequently: La hawla wa la quwwata illa billah."

Hazrat Abu Huraira narrates from the Noble Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said: "La hawla wa la quwwata illa billah is one of the treasures of Paradise."

Hazrat Mu'adh bin Jabal narrates from the Noble Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said: "La hawla wa la quwwata illa billah" is one of the treasures of Paradise.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hazim that he said: Look at every deed because of which you dislike death. So, abandon it. Then, whenever you die, you will not suffer any harm.
