If a Woman Was Living in a Rented House and Is Divorced, What Should She Do?
Hadith 19931
١٩٩٣١ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: نا جرير بن عبد الحميد عن مغيرة عن إبراهيم (سئل) (١) عن امرأة طلقت وهي ساكنة في بيت بكراء فقال: إن أحسن أن يعطي أجرًا وتمكث في بيتها حتى تنقضي عدتها (٢).
Ibrahim (may Allah have mercy on him) was asked about a woman who was living in a rented house and got divorced, so what should she do now? He replied that it is better for the man to pay the rent of the house and she should remain in the same house until her waiting period is completed.
Hadith 19932
١٩٩٣٢ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: نا عبد الوهاب الثقفي عن يحيى بن سعيد قال: سئل ابن المسيب عن امرأة طلقت وهي في بيت بكراء (على من الكراء) (١) -؟ قال: على زوجها.
Hazrat Yahya bin Saeed (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that Hazrat Saeed bin Musayyib (may Allah have mercy on him) was asked: If a woman is living in a rented house and she is divorced, who will pay the rent? He replied that the rent will be obligatory upon her husband.
