Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Harith Akli (may Allah have mercy on him) says that if a man has four wives and he says to them, "Three divorces among you," then each one of them will be separated with three divorces. And if a man gives his wife half a divorce, it will be counted as a full divorce.

Hasan (may Allah have mercy on him) says that if a person has four wives and says, "There is one divorce among all of you," then each of them will receive one divorce.

Hazrat Awza'i (may Allah have mercy on him) says that Hazrat Umar bin Abdul Aziz (may Allah have mercy on him) was asked: If a person gives his wife half a divorce, what is the ruling? He replied that it will be considered one divorce.

Hazrat Hammad (may Allah have mercy on him) and Hazrat Qatadah (may Allah have mercy on him) say that if a man has four wives and he says that there is one divorce among all of you, then each one will receive one divorce.

Hazrat Sha'bi (may Allah have mercy on him) says that if a man says to his wife, "You are half-divorced" or "You are one-third divorced," then it will be counted as one divorce.
