Raising the hands while stoning the Jamarat

Hazrat Mujahid and Hazrat Saeed bin Jubair state that when Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) performed the Rami, we saw him raise his hands until his hands reached the level of his head, and the whiteness of his armpits became visible, and his pebble was the size of a large cartridge.

Hazrat Mujahid says that when one performs the stoning of the Jamarat, one should raise one's hands so much that the whiteness of the armpits becomes visible.

It is narrated from Hazrat Nafi' that when Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) performed the Rami, he kept the Jamrah in front of him and supplicated to Allah Almighty, raising his hands. We also raised our hands with him. Then he did not lower his hands until, due to the crowd, pushing and shoving began, so we lowered our hands, but he remained as he was.

Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with both of them) said that while throwing pebbles at the Jamarat, the hands should be raised.

The companions of Abdullah say that while throwing pebbles at both Jamrahs, they will raise their hands.

Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with both of them) and Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with both of them) state that while throwing pebbles at the Jamrah, the hands should be raised.
