Those who would move their feet alternately in prayer

Hazrat Abdullah saw a man standing in prayer with both his feet apart. Hazrat Abdullah said that if he alternates between his two feet, it would be better. (The meaning of "alternating between the two feet" is that a person stands on the right foot and puts weight on the left foot, then stands on the left foot and puts weight on the right foot, and continues to do so alternately.)

Hazrat Abu Ubaidah narrates that Hazrat Abdullah went from his house to the mosque and saw a man praying with his feet apart. Hazrat Abdullah said that he has opposed the Sunnah; if he had alternated between his two feet, it would have been better.

Hazrat Uyaina bin Abdur Rahman narrates that I was in the mosque with my father. He saw a man who had kept his feet apart during prayer. My father said to him, "Join one foot with the other!" I have seen eighteen companions of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) praying in this very mosque, and none of them did so.

Hazrat Abu Ishaq says that I saw Hazrat Amr bin Maymoon shifting his weight between his two feet during prayer.

Hazrat Ismail bin Abi Khalid narrates that I saw Hazrat Amr bin Maymoon in prayer moving his feet alternately; sometimes he would place one foot over the other, and sometimes the other over this one.

Hazrat Yusuf bin Abda says that I saw Hazrat Ibn Sirin praying, and he would place one foot forward and the other backward.

Hazrat Hisham states that Hazrat Ibn Sirin used to move his feet back and forth between both feet during prayer.

Hazrat Abdullah bin Rashid narrates that Hazrat Mak’hool used to rest one foot over the other during prayer.

Hazrat Khalid bin Abi Bakr says that I saw Hazrat Salim neither keeping his feet straight in prayer nor moving them.
