Those who considered praying on wood to be disliked

Hazrat Bakr bin Abdullah says that Hazrat Umar considered it undesirable for a person to prostrate on wood.

Hazrat Alqamah narrates that Hazrat Abdullah went to visit his brother Utbah, and saw that he was performing prayer with the support of a stick. He picked up the stick and threw it away, and said that this thing has been created by Satan. Place your face on the ground, and if you do not have the strength for that, then perform the prayer by indication.

Ibn Aun reports that Muhammad was asked whether it is permissible to pray on wood. He considered it disliked.

Hazrat Sha'bi says that Hazrat Ibn Mas'ud went to visit his brother Utbah, who was prostrating on a miswak stick. Hazrat Ibn Mas'ud threw away that stick and said, "Pray by making gestures."

Ibrahim states that Hasan considered it undesirable to pray on wood.
