Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah 5608 — Raising the hands in supplication

Sayyiduna Umarah bin Ruwaybah (may Allah be pleased with him) saw Bishr bin Marwan standing on the minbar raising both his hands. Seeing this, he said: "May Allah disgrace these two hands! I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and in the sermon he would only point like this." Saying this, he demonstrated by pointing with his index finger.
