٤٠٦٠٧ - حدثنا وكيع عن إسماعيل عن قيس قال: كان مروان مع طلحة يوم الجمل، قال: فلما (اشتبكت) (١) الحرب (قال مروان) (٢): لا أطلب بثأري بعد اليوم، قال: ثم رماه بسهم فأصاب ركبته، فما رقأ الدم حتى مات، قال: وقال طلحة: دعوه، فإنما هو سهم أرسله اللَّه (٣).
It is reported from Qays: Marwan was with Sayyiduna Talhah (may Allah be pleased with him) on the day of the Battle of the Camel. When the battle had broken out, Marwan said: "After today I will not seek revenge." Then he shot an arrow at him, which struck the knee of Sayyiduna Talhah, and the blood kept flowing until he was martyred. Sayyiduna Talhah said (before his martyrdom): "Leave this wound alone, for this is an arrow that Allah has sent."
