Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah 28021 — Those who disliked perfume

Ibrahim said: Sayyiduna Umar bin al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) went out on the day of Eid and passed by the women, and he perceived perfume from the head of a woman. He asked: "Who is the woman with this perfume? If I recognise her, I will punish her in such and such a way, for a woman may apply perfume only for her husband. And when she goes out, she should wear some worn-out clothes of her own or the worn-out clothes of her maidservant." At this the women said that this woman had got up because of hadath (ritual impurity).
