Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah 22913 — A man in dire need of a Muslim's

The father of Abd al-Rahman bin Zayd bin Aslam said: It was mentioned in a gathering that if a man is compelled, and before him are carrion and the property of a Muslim, what should he eat? I said: He should eat the carrion. Abdullah bin Dinar said: He should eat the Muslim's property. Sa'id bin al-Musayyib (may Allah have mercy on him) said: You have spoken correctly. When a man is compelled, carrion becomes lawful for him, but a Muslim's property does not become lawful even under compulsion.
