Hadith 20075
٢٠٠٧٥ - [حدثنا أبو بكر قال: نا ابن نمير عن عبيد اللَّه (بن عمر) (١) عن نافع عن ابن عمر قال: المتوفى عنها زوجها لا تكتحل، ولا (تختضب) (٢)، (ولا تطيب) (٣)، ولا تلبس ثوبًا إلا ثوب عصب ولا (تبيت) (٤) عن بيتها ولكن تزور بالنهار] (٥) (٦).
Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that a woman whose husband has passed away should neither apply kohl, nor henna, nor perfume. She should wear only a garment called 'asab'. She should not spend the night outside her husband's house, but she may go to meet relatives.
