Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hasan (may Allah have mercy on him) and Ibn Sirin (may Allah have mercy on him) say that the Sunnah method of divorce is that divorce should be given at the beginning of the waiting period (‘iddah), that he should divorce her while she is pure and has not had intercourse with her, and if she is pregnant, he may divorce her whenever he wishes.
